BHS Training
The Equine Industry used to train students as working pupils who financed themselves, then came the equine courses at Agricultural Colleges. However, many people would still like to train on a professional or local yard. Coleg Gwent operates a successful scheme, where centres become a classroom of the college. In other words the college delivers training on the yards just as they would on college premises, so the college is going out to the yards as opposed to the students coming into the college. Students can enrol on full or part time college courses and receive their training at Sunnybank . Students can go to Coleg Gwents Usk Equine Campus to use the facilities at any convenient time and are entitled to exactly the same support and services as a student on the main campus.
We are welcoming ideas from all our competitors as to who they would like to do a demonstration so please let us have your ideas.
Proprietor judge and regular competitor Terinna Pesci-Griffiths who has been in the industry for 50 years, her husband David, who is a qualified farrier and has been in the inudstry for over 50 years & their son Tyler, who is an apprentice farrier and co-runs the centre,s ee the facility as a real benefit to Equestrianism and to tourism in the area;
'We are thrilled to be able to put Caerphilly on the equestrian map for novice and professional competitors alike, and offer them this purpose built venue.'
